Backstory

Who changed you?

Katja's parents proved to be imposters that were part of a project to subject herself and her siblings to an experiment in genetic modification. Eventually, they decided to use a magical ritual to attempt to trigger her altered genetics.

How did you escape from them?

Her fake parents actually helped her and her siblings escaped, but largely it was because the people behind the experiment just flat were not prepared for her increased power.

Who, outside the team, looks out for now?

She has a job at a local library and her boss only knows her puny human form and the fact that she's trying to raise five younger siblings.

Why do you try to be a hero?

What was done to her and her family wasn't right. It was just flat wrong. She wants to make sure that sort of thing doesn't happen to anybody else.

Why do you care about the team?

Acting with the team adds quite a bit to her pay, but largely it is because a sense of shared circumstances with each of them. She also is a little bit taken with Umeko, who can't even turn back to human.

Relationships

She has a platonic crush on Umeko whom she had heard about from the news and first sought to make a contact with someone outside her family about her change and her fear of becoming a monster. They both share an intense interest in honor and justice.

She considers Minako a rival. The alien is just as concern with honor but her interest in justice is only as a result of that. Also, Minako gets officious and has tried to rein in Katja on several occasions.

We're starting with the Bull.

And I'm going to use the Atomik Lifepath for some of the basic stuff. This is from way back in the otherwise horrible Fuzion attempt at Champions. I found it on its own sometime ago, or a generic version of it.

Now we're going to use the Family Background stuff

Mysterious Background: The character's parents were somewhat distant and there were supposedly no other relatives. The parents died recently and that led to a strange discovery. The people who raised the character were not really his or her parents. Documents indicate that they were sent regular checks, made regular reports on the character's childhood progress, and apparently reported to some organization. The character's real name and identity are unknown.

I'm going to say this happens Japan because I live here right now.  And for ethnicity on this character I'm rolling on Central Casting "Heroes Now!": she is the child of immigrants from Sweden....or so she thought.

For the experiment that changed her, I'm going to roll a combo of Heroes Unlimited Experiment and Nightspawn Morphus generator to create a shapeshifted form. (She's not the transformed because she can look perfectly human).

However, I'm modifying the experiment type:

01-20 Chemical

21-40 Radiation

41-60 Genetic

61-80 Magic

81-100 Two or more methods combined (roll twice more)

And she's created from a combination of genetic modification and magic. She was created by private industry, or at least that's the first rung of the story that she knows about. And she ran away with her siblings and now is hiding from the people behind engineering her life, hoping to avoid having her brothers and sisters exposed to the same magic that triggered her genetic changes.

Her age is 20. In her human form she's 4'11" and 90 lbs, making her extremely skinny and short. When she transforms she becomes 5'11" and 150 lbs, closer to the "Physical Perfection" that I rolled up before coming back to this point and rolling these stats.

I figure she's supporting her five other siblings. So how is she doing that? Perhaps her activity as a Chimera pays?  I'll have to figure out a bit about the Chimera Sirens in a bit. That'll be its own page.

When I figure that out, I might come back here to figure out specifics of how she supports her younger brothers and sisters.

Her monster form: Inhuman but Beautiful

Physical Perfection, Living Tattoos, Prehensile Tail, Small Horns and glowing eyes. (For the heck of it I'm going to say that her hair changes to black and silver too)

I'm going to roll to see which Label gets the +1, and it's Freak.

However, since Love is a major part of this character, I'm going to go ahead and figure out her sexuality here. The percentages chosen are in no way connected to real life percentages.

And she's heterosexual, which means her Love is either outside the team of main characters or else it is platonic "heterosexual life partner" type thing. I'll give 50% chance of either.

Okay, for now, she has a platonic love for one of her teammates...most of whom I still have to make (Kyou is made, but still have two others.)

For her character name from Behind the Name: Katja Holgersson

For her superhero name I'm going with theme naming similar to Japanese sentai shows and go with a stone combined with the word "Chimera".

I'll go with Marble since it can be both black and white.
