Divine Blood - Wasps Among Butterflies - Session Eight - Edobara Storyline Epilogue

 This session includes four characters:
  • Arianrhod Monica Trengrove (aka Aria), the succubus and Perfect Yandere of War who believes Psyche is Doing the Right Thing and is Lost Outside the Hierarchy
  • Sophia Ecks, Voyeuristic Visionary and Virtual Apex Predator who lives on The Bleeding Edge
  • Sarah Gow, a Napoleonic Werepanther from an Urbanized Tribe who's a Practiced Shapeshifter
  • Katherine "Katie" Lally, a Psyche Vampyr with a Sensitive Side who is a Former Police Officer exhibiting Fidelity, Bravery and Integrity and has troubles with Things with Buttons.
Faerie Court on the Move

Coming out of the hospital, the four agents moved to the local Psyche headquarters to discuss their options. Katie briefly got pulled away to discuss where she was living in the city. The team discussed the matter of the attack that occurred outside the Mister Donut and discussed the identity of the attacker, Reina Kazuko.

After a bit of a digital search, they track down the various businesses that Mei Sokano controls and finds they are all backed by a company known as Alberich-Domus, which is a name that obliquely translates to Oberon House. Oberon being one of the two immortal sidhe that have commanded the Faerie Court reportedly for thousands of years. The mention of sidhe from Kansai passing around flyers for a talent show are made and it is found that it is occurring in two weeks.

Options are discussed for how to approach the situation given the general physical and mental condition of the four interns, including the newcomer's attention from the public authorities. The point is made that the original intention of this investigation was to avoid drawing the nuclear response likely to occur if the people encroaching on Community space raise the ire of one of the more reactive sorcerer families. With that in mind, they opted to push the situation up the line of command to people that have the authority to approach with negotiation and threat of outright war with the Faerie Court.

In the end, Psyche allows the Faerie Court this foothold with the intention of using them to keep an eye on the ancient tyrannical group's actions and maybe lure some of their agents away, though breaking the layers of dreams and other brainwashing on such might turn out to be difficult.

Over the next few months, Sophie works through connections with Psyche to find a place to investigate her own developing powers so that she can work to avoid doing again what she had done to Reina, whose presence still sits in the back of her head at times. She spends the time in an underground facility of some sort dug into rocks of an odd reddish color and with a distinctively unusual electromagnetic field, maybe artificial. It was in the process of being built and she encountered another Visionary during the time as well as pushing her telekinetic capability.

Aria spent the first couple of weeks healing up from her encounter with Mei Sokano before being put back into the field and working with Sarah, and occasionally Katie, on a number of other investigations tracking down Van Helsings, Witches and other individuals Psyche points her at with Sarah acting as the less scary cop.

Katie mostly spent her time getting an actual apartment and laying low as the matter of her accidental shooting faded down. But she also spent some intense time training herself in firearms to avoid ever hitting a bystander again. Sarah supplemented her tactical actions by spending time running puppet shows for local Community kids, using her doppleganger ability to manage some excellent voices.

The grid section for this session.
This turned out to be a really short session and I added in some of the lead up to the ninth session in this play report. I had a great line about Kansai sidhe from Kansai-shi speaking Kansai-ben, but it really turned up being a wrap up and epilogue for the storyline which we felt was the most logical even if it felt anti-climatic. Then we decided to zoom ahead a bit in the future to skip into the part of the timeline that has not been written in fiction yet. Namely, the start of the coming apocalypse.
