Terrorism, Trumpism, and Riots - Centerpoint Station Campaign - Session One

Piracy in the sector goes beyond the ability of the station to control and raises hostility among the foreign governments for the UTSNS's inability to protect their merchants. Offers of aid in securing the sector prompt immediate concern (terror) in everybody and Captain Sekai immediately calls for aid. Rumors fly about the station about aliens threatening to take over the sector. Information that the pirates have a carrier that was supposed to have been mothballed by the Terran navy is made public. Consulate row gets angry. A new bill is put to the Terran government that rises more ire. A UTSNS patrol group and a Yapathi escort group appear close on top of each other and the station raising tensions. A riot breaks out on the station fueled by hacker encouragement until it is defused. The riot disperses but the ship standoff continues...and then a Yax colony ship appears.

Timeline

• Increased pirate activity has been reported in the system.
• Green alert goes off on the station as an Alari freighter has called for aid due to a pirate attack.
• A marine boarding craft, scout vessel, and one fighter squadron are dispatched.
• Lt Dauss and Cpt Zee-ale are present.
• The Black Flag pirates are piloting Terran designs from the second Hythean War, 50 years ago.
• The fight against the pirates is incredibly one-sided though there is a moment where the freighter panics and mistakes the Terran ships as more pirates and turns into more danger.
• Cpt Zee-ale monitoring scout ship telemetry notices a large ship signature hiding nearby.
• Lt Dauss and wing attempt to approach stealthily but are detected.
• A fleet carrier is spotted before it gates away. 
• It is unheard of for pirates to have carriers much less a full fleet carrier.
• Cpt Zee-ale is able to register its signature before it escapes.
• The carrier is identified as the Rodina Mat
• The Rodina Mat started construction in the third Hythean War but was never finished.
• It was mothballed at the Horizon training planet.
• It is still shown to be at Horizon.
• Mal Molleux does business while the alert distracts people.
• Zee-ale types up his report.
• SUD0! and NODE break into the station computers and watch the report as it is typed.
• Zee-ale recommends reporting the presence of the Rodina Mat upfront.
• Captain Sekai decides not to reveal that information until they've verified it.
• The Captain meets with Consulate Row.
• The Yapathi and Alari are especially angry as they have been especially hit hard by these pirates.
• Ar-Oki Maddox'Ki'Rav suggests "if your military in the sector is insufficient the Yax'Klalock can provide aid.
• This terrifies everybody as Yax ships are notoriously bad at IFF. 
• Maddox is genuinely trying to be helpful.
• Yapathi and Saiiban both offer similar aid.
• Nobody wants both of those races' militaries in the same sector at the same time. 
• Captain Sekai promises swift action. On leaving the meeting she requests more forces.
• Rumors fly about the station.
• The aliens are threatening to take over the station.
• The aliens want to install martial law.
• The aliens are very angry.
• Mal wants to separate rumor from fact and delivers to two of their alien clients.
• The Yapathi consul gets some contraband cigars
• Maddox gets groceries.
• The groceries are from the station market.
• Maddox does not understand the concept of smuggler.
• Maddox thinks Mal is a delivery service.
• Maddox has no idea she's vastly overpaying for services.
• Mal has no problem getting a payday for shopping for thirty minutes to an hour.
• Maddox lets slip a bit more than she intends.
• Concepts of secrecy are slow to develop.
• She says she offered aid but it was rejected and the captain promised response. 
• The Yapathi Consul brags that his people are sending an escort group.
• Maddox is confused as to why the Yapathi did this even though the Captain promised to act.
• NODE and SUD0! release the info about the Rodina Mat
• Maddox immediately messages Captain Sekai to ask what does this mean. Why did you not mention this in our meeting earlier?
• One of the messages is from Cpt Zee-ale reiterating that honesty is the best policy.
• Captain Sekai has several other such messages going on at the same time.
• Soon after a new bill is submitted to the UTSNS legislature app.
• The bill is submitted by the Secure Human Future poli-sphere.
• The bill states that since the military forces in the reason cannot effectively protect their friends then we should close that sector to all aliens.
• In other  words: We're kicking you out for your own protection. 
• Almost immediately the bill is flooded with angry comments pissed off at the bill.
• All three Terran PCs also comment to the forum that they do not support the bill.
• However, the bill is receiving supporting comments as well.
• Maddox considers the situation.
• The Centerpoint station and surrounding sector is one of the only places all the allied races can do business without worry about Hythean attack.
• Closing the sector to non-Terran traffic would vastly disrupt the unity of the alliance against the Hytheans.
• The sector has the only gate that has easy access to the unclaimed frontier space.
• Closing the sector to non-Terran traffic would essentially leave the frontier as only available to the UTSNS.
• The bill is highly unlikely to pass to law.
• The bill does seems likely to move to consideration.
• This means the bill will likely be seen to a vote.
• Just in case the bill passes to Terran law, Maddox and the Yax'klalock hive mind move to deploying a colony ship into frontier space while it is legal to pass through.
• Do the Yax'Klalock have a planet in mine?Nope.
• Is the likelihood of this mission ending in disaster high? Yes.
• Would any other species consider this a cruel suicide mission? Yes.
• Yay, hive mind! For the Yax this is just a risky gamble of resources. 
• The Excalibur patrol group arrives at Centerpoint.
• Consists of the Excalibur battle cruiser and the Hannibal Barca light carrier. 
• This is Maddox's doing because of her suggestion of aid earlier.
• Player: Yes, this is my fault.
• A little bit later a Yapathi escort group shows up.
• Consists of three capital ships and seven destroyers.
• The Yapathi request refueling.
• Centerpoint station informs them that they cannot legally fuel foreign war cruisers without authorization.
• The Yapathi insist and start getting angry.
• If the Yapathi continue to be denied they will have to send a tanker group with its own military escort.
• In the Trade Sector on the station a Molotov cocktail is tossed into a business that supports Secure Human Future.
• A riot breaks out.
• Mal tries to avoid the danger and meets with SUD0! and checks on their hideout.
• SUD0! releases a list of businesses with support from Secure Human Future and also lists of innocent businesses.
• All Might style meme list.
• Attack these.
• Don't attack these, only jerks attack these.
• Centerpoint Station computer systems go into total lockdown.
• Maddox is in the riot protecting civilians.
• She is in no way able to pass as human why nervous.
• She is as terrifying to those she's protecting as the rioters.
• She's essentially just circling her group and telling people "No! Go away!"
• Her personal protection drone is circling opposite of her.
• Her normally beautiful voice has regressed into shrieky terrifying buggy horror noises.  
• Cpt Zee-ale deploys with his marines to settle the riot.
• Between Maddox's presence and Cpt Zee-ale's speech, the riot is defused mostly peacefully.
• Maddox has now become a Face of the events on this event and may be targeted by Secure Human Future, but she doesn't do that.
• SUD0! breaks through Centerpoint firewalls and accesses surveillance in order to scan footage to identify and index members of Secure Human Future.
• Outside, the Yapathi escort group and the Excalibur patrol group are still in standoff.
• The session ends as a Yax'Klalock colony ship gates into the scene.
• Player: Yes, this is also my fault.
